Hi everybody!

In light of the holiday season, I just wanted to share with you a very stunning piece of artwork I found on the Pottermore blog.

If you have a Pottermore beta account, we hope you are enjoying it! If you don't, be patient - it's really worth waiting for.

If you want to check out other cool art like this one, visit the official Pottermore blog.

Enjoy the season everybody!

Thanks Cindy!

This August marks the second anniversary of the Calendars page at HPD, all thanks to Cindy who very graciously creates them every month for us! Thank you for all of your hard work, creative talents, and beautiful calendars, Cindy!

Happy birthday

There are a million things we could and absolutely should thank Harry for on his birthday, July 31st. Not only did he ensure the wizarding world its safe future when he was a mere 17 years of age, he has brought his fans years upon years of fun, wisdom, joy, and friendship. There are undoubtedly miles of cleverly written happy birthday wishes and thank you's on the internet. We here at the HPD would like to send out a simple yet huge thank you to Harry and everything he has done for every single one of the people in his huge fandom (hey, Part 2 didn't reach 1 billion on its own!)!

And yes, muggles, we do wish our characters a happy birthday, and we wish them a happy birthday with pride!

But even before we send our good cheers to Harry, we should first thank Ms. J.K. Rowling, who shares her birthday with him. Once, Jo Rowling was taking a ride on a train. Alas, she had an idea. From there, millions of people were given the gift of a priceless literary friend. We hope you've had an amazing birthday Jo, and we don't know what we'd do without you!

Update at last?

Update? What is this nonsense I hear of?

You've got it. Hello June, goodbye stress. We're ready to really kick into Potter mode here at the Dictionary. As we are all (assumably) flooded with anticipation, suspense, excitement, or sheer despondency, all we can really do it wait and entertain ourselves with the trailers, the rest of the movies, and perhaps some new Potter goodies on the market (HP legos or an awesome poster book, anyone?)

Now that some time has indeed opened up, it's time to get crackin' at those questions you all have been sending in nonstop. There are a few stipulations to the answering circumstances, however. I will not answer your question if it can be found on this site somewhere. I will not answer your lazy question that you just don't feel like finding in the book when all you have to do is pull out the book, get the right chapter, and take 15 minutes to read through and, miraculously, you will have just trobleshooted (..troubleshot?) for yourself. I will not answer your question if it is vague. I WilL nOt An$w3r ur kwe$tshion if U tYp3 lyk dI$. And for the sake of time, you will not be receiving a personal response email when your question has been answered (this I regret but it is simply not doable.) And please, if you have intentions on sending a question to us in the near future, click the sumbit button once. Not twice. Not thrice. Not 37 times. I assure you we received it the very moment your mouse hovered over the sumbit button and your delicate finger made contact with the clicky part of your PC's navigation rodent. Aside from these ramblings, I do intend on replying to compelling questions that come into the forum. Thank you for your interesting queries!

Now, go reread the series, or at least watch a movie! May the force be with you  Keep calm and carry on ... um. Have a very Harry day! (we are also accepting more clever closing lines in the forum)

It's October!

Hey guys. It's fall, it's October, and Deathly Hallows is will be here just over a month and a half. Have you seen any of the new Hot Topic merchandise? It's both cool and depressing. Last week I walked into a local Hot Topic where they had the "It all ends here" shirt, castle in flames and all. Right above it was an original Phisopher's Stone shirt featuring a very peaceful Hogwarts. ...Ouch.

A few new posters came out recently. The individual trio posters are compiled on the calendar for this month. Another features the trio running. The newest trailer also came out a week ago. You can check it out on the official Deathly Hallows website. I really recommend it. Will you be going at midnight? Will you be seeing it in 3D?

J.K. Rowling was on Oprah today (October 1st). If you missed it, she talked about her past, the importance of failure, the possibility of writing another Harry Potter book and more.

Halloween is coming up! Are you dressing up as a Harry Potter character? Let us know if you have a great idea for a costume or a picture.

What? MARCH was the last time we updated?

Merlin's beard! What has happened to the time? Anyway, there IS some new and noteworthy news worth posting.

1. The Deathly Hallows trailer. It's really, really amazing with a ton of new and great footage. Super stuff! Check it out if you haven't already. Even if you have, it's worth checking out again.

2. The Wizarding World in Orlando. It opened June 18th and alot of the main cast attended the grand opening. I haven't been to it yet, but The Today show had a special coverage on it the day it opened. Thanks to that a few other sources (such as Mugglenet) there are a few things that everyone should know about it.

  • The butterbeer is EXCELLENT!
  • The Forbidden Journey ride is really hardcore. Really awesome, but it is fast and super swirly and etc.
  • There is a ton of really awesome stuff to buy, so allow yourself a certain sum for fun spending.
  • Don't forget, the wand chooses the wizard.
  • (One of the coolest things in my opinion) I THINK you can convert your cash into galleons for spending. This isn't definite, but I heard something that implies this.

If you have been to the Wizarding World and have anything about it you would like to share, we would love to hear from you.

3. The cast has finished filming Deathly Hallows. Alot of the cast describe it as bitter-sweet.

March update

Fellow Harry Potter fanatics, HPD readers, or whatever you label yourselves as, you may have noticed a recent lack of action in the supposedly active portions of the site. We implore you not to fret, as fretting is a negative and unpleasant action. Yes, we are still working on answering your questions. Yes, we need a new poll. It's all a work in progress!

Meanwhile, we really encourage you to share your stuff with us. It doesn't matter what you have. It could literally be anything. Fan fiction would be great. Under a vast majority of occasions, we would not reject your entry. If you have a wallpaper, fan art, or some other Harry Potter graphic concept, we would be happy to display it. A topic for discussion? Do you have a story? How did you get into Harry Potter? An idea for a new poll? Contest? Anything interesting at all. Share it with us.

About the Questions section...

Since summertime, several HPD visitors have been making use of the Questions section to answer their querries reguarding Harry Potter.  Unfortunately, we have fallen EXTREMELY behind on responding to them and adding them to the site.  Please don't despair, there is hope.  We have not forgotten about you.  We have simply been excruciatingly busy in the muggle world.  We would like to add that we are starting to answer some of them.  Since we're backed up a ways, it might take a bit.  Also, for the time being we are responding using the included email address as apposed to sticking it on the site.  We will add them to the site at a later time.  And please note that there is a (overwhelming) possibility that we will not answer your question if:

A) You asked us to define something that you can define yourself by paying the Dictionary area a visit.

B) You did not include your email address as we so kindly asked you to. (tisk tisk)

C) You used the wrong forum (the one used for helping another user answer his or her website-published question) which you could have prevented by reading the instructions. (tiiiiiiiiisk, tisk)

D) Your question is a desprate plead for us to help you physically understand and do magical laws and properties.  Now now, calm down... maybe your Hogwarts letter is simply lost in the mail...

A website news mix

Regrettably, The Harry Potter Dictionary, along with its various applications, has suffered due to recent loads of work.  Sadly, this work takes place in the muggle world, where one cannot wave a wand to, oh, say... complete an essay, or confuse your instructor to believe the assignment is really due a week later, etc.

As a reminder, the Half-Blood Prince DVD comes out on December 8th in the United states.

Other than DVD anticipation, Wizarding World of Harry Potter anticipation, and Deathly Hallows filming (and tweets about it from actors), not much in the way of news.  We recommend sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting for December 8th, and respectively purchasing the DVD at once and watching it until you've memorized all the lines and can recite them on demand.

As October has ended, we hope you had a fantastic Halloween!

Mugglenet's 10th Anniversary

This particular post doesn't have much to do with the Harry Potter Dictionary.  But I figured it's worth mentioning.  This October, Mugglenet.com is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a website, which started when early fan Emerson Spartz got bored and decided to make an HP website.  To this day, it is the number one Harry Potter fansite, it has numerous unique features, and its staff has dedicated to ensuring that all Harry Potter fans are in the know of the fandom, along with supplying fantastic corresponding shenanigans. They’ll be celebrating throughout the month if you would like to check it out. On behalf of the Harry Potter Dictionary and all the fans, I’d like to give Mugglenet a huge thank you for all that you’ve done for the fans and the community as a whole!

General Update

As the Harry Potter Dictionary hopes with crossed fingers that its visitors have not forgotten about it, we'd like to apologize for the lack of news updates and provide a breif summary of the top stories from the past month.

1. HP DVD RELEASE for the US is Tuesday, December 8th!

2.  J.K. Rowling has joined Twitter and has revealed that she is "busy with a pen".  What could it be? The Harry Potter Encyclopedia?

3. It's official: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is to open in Spring of 2010, with attractions including "Flight of the Hippogriff", "The Dragon Challenge",  and also places like Olivanders and Honeydukes.

Calendars for the muggles

Harry Potter Dictionary reader Cindy makes Harry Potter calender sheets, and is now sharing them with us so that you folks can download them from our new Calendars page!  Perfect for work, back to school, or just your average everyday use, you can check the page out here.  Thanks, Cindy!  Enjoy!

Deathly Hallows Poster

I haven't heard of it until just today when I came across it unexpectedly on Flixter, but I found a Deathly Hallows poster.  So, I searched for it to find out if it was legit and when it came out, and apparently it's not legit, but fan-made, and it was leaked across the internet back in December.  Nevertheless, it's worth taking a look at as it's pretty cool.  Check it out here.

HBP Review?

Touche, it is about time.  Roughly half a month after it came out, we present you with a written summary of the movie whose purpose started out being a well-organized review, and ended up being something of simple scattered thoughts, admirations, and comparisons from the standpoint of an overly-excited member of the fandom (explained bluntly).  Please click here to read it.  Enjoy!

Contests!!!

Please click here to take a survey about contests you may be interested in.  When enough people do it, we'll get some contests started up!  It'll only take a few seconds, and we thank you greatly for any input.

Happy Birthday Dan!

Today, July 23rd, The Harry Potter Dictionary would like to wish Dan Radcliffe a fantastic 20th birthday!  Happy birthday, Dan!

It's HERE!!!

As you are all aware, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince hits theatres TODAY!!  On a personal note, I must say that I thought the movie was incredibly spectacular -- I went to the midnight release last night!  We certainly have plenty to take in and speculate and such!  More rave and reviews to come later on, but for now, you can take the poll to the right.

HBP Actors on Upcoming Talk Shows

It's time to start getting really excited for Half-Blood Prince!  With the release in just over a week, some of the stars are to appear on talk shows over the next few days.

Dan Radcliffe: David Letterman - July 8th

Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint: Regis and Kelly - July 9th

Emma Watson: David Letterman - July 9th

Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint: The Today Show - July 10th

Tales from a book store visit

So, this evening, I decided to take a quick stop in the book store, perhaps for a leisurely look around... aaaand left the book store with 3 different Harry Potter related items.

The first of which is the reason why I am probably lucky to have escaped the book store without injuries.  Starting with the title: "Harry Potter Should Have Died". (Eek. I can almost feel the fire being thrown at me.)  Relax... that's not really what they think.  "Harry Potter Should Have Died" is a book full of controversial views from staff members at Mugglenet, Emerson Spartz and Ben Schoen.  The book is intended to address popluar questions such as "Did Harry really die?".  It also contains views, for example, relating to Dumbledore's sexuality and whether or not it it should have been kept a secret.  There are also fun-intended parts of the book, but if you would like to know more about it, visit www.mugglenet.com , or just hit your local book store and check it out.  Just dodge the curious (maybe more like furious) employees when you ask them about it.  For the record, the title does not necessarily have to reffer to Harry Potter the character, but also Harry Potter "the buzz".  We all know Harry Potter is not near dead though.  To add one last thought, all proceeds of this book will be donated to a cause that the author Emerson Spartz has recently founded called GMH (Gives Me Hope.)  Its like FML- but for optomists.  Respectively, all the proceeds that come from GivesMeHope will be donated to The Boys and Girls Club of America.

Secondly, I found a book entitled "Hogwarts and Beyond", which is labeled as a poster book, but it's really more of a collectors item in my opinion.  Some of you may recall that last year, there was a book that was released called "Hogwarts Through the Years", which was in a format to, perhaps, faintly remind one of a sort of yearbook.  This new book is similar, cotaining pictures of the main characters, staff, organizations, etc., but it has pictures from Half-Blood Prince in it.

Third, I got the new Half-Blood Prince poster book, whose seemingly early release I was unaware of up until a couple of hours ago.  It contains poster sheets from Half-Blood Prince, and also fun facts and interviews with the actors and actresses.

ALSO: (ahead of time, be aware that I did not purchase this, so the information I obtained from it may not be spot on accurate,) I saw a book with the title "Lexicon".  Naturally, I could not resist to pick it up.  Mostly because Steve Vander Ark, (the man at Harry Potter Lexicon who was in the trial against Jo to have his "Lexicon" published in a book,) lost the trial against Jo, so, naturally, I assumed he was banned from doing so.  The first page had general details of the trial and its likings, where he stated that, more or less, he wrote the book in attempt for "a different purpose" (?).  And it said it was copyright 2009.  When I turned a couple pages, what did I see?  Harry Potter terms, starting with the letter A.  Accio...Abbott, Hannah...Acconite... and so forth.  But.....isn't that, well, more or less, exactly what he was banned from doing?  What was his "different purpose"?  If anybody knows any other information concerning this "Lexicon" book, I would be happy to accept it for news material (ashley@harrypotterdictionary.com).  I will do more research on this, as I am more than quite curious myself, and I will post it straight away.

WELL, I appreciate you reading what has turned out to be much more of a blog entry than a news post, and I hope you check out the books I described above, all of which I highly recommend.

New Hot Topic Merchandice!

Hot Topic has recently added a bunch of new and really cool Half-Blood Prince merchandise.  You can check out the website right here - just keyword Harry Potter.

Some interesting highlights include a couple of new posters, a few t-shirts,and some tote bags.  There's probably a good chance we'll see a lot more hot topic stuff in upcoming weeks, so make sure you keep checking Hot Topic!

Warner Brothers has released a pretty awesome Half-Blood Prince one sheet which you can check out right here.  The one sheet didplays Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Dumbledore.

We apologize as this post comes quite a bit late, but Warner Brothers has released a few neat double-character posters.

          -Harry and Dumbledore

          -Hermione and Slughorn

          -Ron and Ginny

          -Draco and Snape

A while back (sorry for the delay), a Half Blood Prince Video Game poster was released, which can be seen here

The video game will be released on June 30th, and will be avaliable on the following platforms:  Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Nintedo DS, PSP, Windows PC and Macintosh.

Final Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Warner Brothers has released the final Half-Blood Prince trailer, which can be seen here with Windows Media Center.  (To download, right click, save target as...)

In related news, the official date for the movie release has been moved up 2 days to July 15th.  No word yet on the reasoning behind this, but they did the same thing last time with Order of the Phoenix, so it's really not a big deal.

New Batch of Individual Posters

Over the past few weeks, a handful of new posters for characers in Half-Blood Prince have been released, and they're really cool.

     -Draco

     -Dumbledore

     -Harry

     -Hermione

     -Ron

     -Snape

"J.K. Rowling: A Year In The Life" to Premeire on ABC

Back in December, Harry Potter fans in Europe had the pleasure of viewing a documentary that aired on a Brittish television station.  The documentary was entitled "J.K. Rowling: A Year In The Life".  Now, US residents will have the chance to view it as well.  ABC will air the documentary on July 16th, so make sure you catch it!

Hence the title, the documentary is about J.K. Rowling and her life and experiences as a world renowned author.

For the Muggles

Have you ever wanted to tell your best buddy how funny they are by using an analogy to Fred and George Weasley?  Or, perhaps you want to tell that [insert word here] just how annoying they are by comparing them to Draco Malfoy?  Well, your time has come.

In this crazy world of technologies we have today, among the muggles out there, you may have heard of an online social network called "Facebook".  Who knows, some of you may even have a Facebook Profile!  In the past few weeks, you may have noticed that there are these pictures going around.  What you do is add the picture to your photos, and tag some of your friends as an animated character with a specified personality.

Without further a due, The Harry Potter Dictionary presents our very own Harry Potter animated-character-Facebook-tag-your-friends-picture!  Instead of being based on the cute sketched characters we see so often, though, its our very favorite Harry Potter Characters.   Check it out and save it here

A HUGE thanks goes to AIM's WeeMee creator for supplying the tools needed to create these animated versions of Harry Potter characters.

Banner for Half-Blood Prince

Going along with the news from a couple weeks ago that there are some Half-Blood Prince promo posters, there is now a really cool looking banner, featuring young Tom Riddle, Malfoy, Snape, Harry, and Ginny, which you can check out right here.

Our question is, why have these 5 been placed together in this banner?

FINALLY, Half-Blood Prince posters!!!

Finally, 3 Half-Blood Prince promotion posters have been released!  Check them out below.

-Harry, reflecting Dumbledore in his glasses

          -Harry holding his wand

          -Dumbledore

An interesting change that they have made from past posters is the way that "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" is written diagonally in 2 of the 3, and in the other one they simply wrote "HP6".

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince receives PG rating

Unfortunately, this post comes a little late, but it has been officially confirmed by the MPAA that the upcoming 6th installment of the Harry Potter series, to hit theatres this July, has received a rating of PG.

Some reasons that were specified for that particular rating are as follows: scary images, some violence, language, and mild sensuality.

This is slightly surprising, especially since Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix were both PG-13.  According to Daniel Radcliffe and several other cast members, this movie should be the funniest so far, but will that light-hearted mood affect the entire movie? Have the rating guidelines just slackened since Order of the Phoenix?  Compared to the book, was this expected?

NEW! Discussion Center added!

Yes, yes, we know...this is a site update, not news, but it's so special, it deserves a post of it's own.  The Harry Potter Dictionary has now added a page for discussion!  All you have to do is fill in your name, e-mail, the title, and how you respond to the topic.  To read more about it, just click Discussion over on the side pannel.  This time, the topic is "A fate worse than death".

This is a reminder -- start sending in that FANFIC or FAN ART so we can display it and get the pages going!

Beedle the Bard released!

Today, on December 4, Beddle the Bard was released across the world!  3.5 million copies were printed so far in the U.S. alone.  It is expected by numerous sources that the book will most definately earn a top spot, maybe even number 1, on the charts for the next few weeks.  Even despite having been released in December, it is even rumored that it has a fighting chance at best-selling book of year!

For those who don't know, Beedle the Bard is a collection of short stories that are read to young wizards and witches for fun in the wizarding world of Harry Potter, similar to "fairy tales" for muggles.  Dumbledore left Hermione a copy of Beedle the Bard in book 7, which bears the importance of one tale in particular: The Tale of the Three Brothers.  This tale proves to be the backbone of 3 items called the Deathly Hallows, which were thought to be mythical by most of the wizarding community.  You can read more about all 5 tales by picking up a copy in your local book-selling store.  The list price was originally $12.99, but in most stores you can get them alot cheaper; at most places they run for around $8.

Warner Brothers releases brand new Half-Blood Prince trailer!

On November 14, Warner Brothers released a new trailer, and it is AMAZING!!! Check it out at this link to view it through Windows Media Center.  If you would like to see it in theaters, it will be playing with the movie Twilight, based on the fantasy novel by Stephenie Meyer, which will come out November 21.

Inernational Half-Blood Prince Trailer!

THIS JUST IN: Today, an international Half-Blood Prince trailer has appeared online, completely unexpected.  No word on whether or not this was intentionally released or just leaked, but there are several new and exciting scenes.  So without further a due, you can watch it to the right.

New Sorcerer's Stone "School Market" paperback

Scholastic has recently released a 10th aniversary edition of Sorcerer's Stone, which depicts Harry quite different than on the last one.  The 10th aniversary edition was released on September 23, and it shows Harry looking into a mirror.

A few days ago, a new cover, supposedly for paperback, has appeared online, this time depicting Harry, Mr. Olivander, and Hagrid in Olivander's Wand Shop.  On the top, it reads "Exclusive School Market Edition", so chances are you'll only be able to buy it through the catalogs Scholastic sends out among school audiences.  Keep an eye out for it, though, it looks like it's pretty cool!

J.K. Rowling wins trial against RDR

If you recall last October, J.K. Rowling and Steve Vander Ark were holding a court trial over whether or not The Harry Potter Lexicon was allowed to publish a "Harry Potter Dictionary" of all the references used on their website.  J.K. Rowling found this disturbing, given her own plans to write somthing similar in the future.

It was reported on September 8 that the verdict was held in favor of J.K. Rowling and Warner Brothers, and that RDR (sponsoring Lexicon) was to pay statutory damages of $750 per all of J.K. Rowling's books.

Harry Potter featured in Entertainment Weekly

Harry Potter has been given a special spread in the August 22/29 issue of Entertainment Weekly.  Ironically, it is a fall movie preview, but it has a set report and a few new pics (including one of Harry displayed on the cover).

Also: (completely unrelating to the above info) A handful of new Half-Blood Prince pics have been leaked online over the past couple of days from various, yet unofficial sources.  Chances are, Warner Brothers will release the high-res versions soon, but if they don't within the next few days, we'll just go ahead and add them in the slide show in the Department of Mysteries anyway.

Warner Bros. give more reasons for Half-Blood Prince push back

Warner Brothers has given a statement including additional reasoning on the HBP delay decision.  According to the Warner Brothers president, the Dark Knight brought such a huge success, being the second highest grossing film ever, that is somewhat persuaded the decision.  It was also set in the same mid-summer weekend that Half-Blood Prince is scheduled to be.  Additionally, the "young, core Potter audience"  would be out of school, hopefully giving a longer theatrical life.

Lastly, a quote was givin: "We would never do anything to hurt one of the movies or the series.  We love our fans".

Half-Blood Prince Movie DELAYED

It has been officially reported today, August 14 that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film release date has been pushed all the way up to July 17, 2009.  According to the press release from Warner Brothers made earlier today, a major reason persuading this traumatic decision is the box-office earnings comparing winter and summer releases, Order of the Phoenix coming in at second highest grossing film in the franchise.

Additionally, they stated that many other filming studios are still recovering from the writers strike, affecting the readiness of scripts in the near future, and Half-Blood Prince "perfectly fills the gap for a major tent-pole release for mid summer".

Obviously, EVERY Harry Potter fan is more that ticked off with this news, and everyone is completely shocked at the unexpected announcement.  Loads of us are really hoping that this is all a not-so-funny-joke, but sadly, it does not appear so.

We'll keep you informed on further information concerning the release as it comes.

J.K. Rowling's charity to publish Beedle the Bard

Back in January, J.K. Rowling auctioned off a copy of " The Tales of Beedle the Bard", proceeds of which went to charity.  Today, Scholastic announced that J.K. Rowling's charity (The Children's High Level Group) will be publishing Beedle the Bard around the world for the entire public audience to buy!

Scholastic, Bloomsbury, and Amazon are to be printing and distributing the copies.  It is set to be released on December 4, and Scholastic is hoping for about $8 million in sales, again, profits of which will be going to Jo's charity.

This is very exciting news, and for the big fans, hopefully this means another midnight release!!!!

Happy Birthday Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling!

On this fine July 31 day, we celebrate 2 of the most important birthdays in the Potter community!

First, comes J.K. Rowling who, some nineteen years ago, decided to write a book, telling the tale of a boy wizard named Harry Potter.  Today, her 7 book series is now a multi-billion dollar franchise, one of the biggest in history.  She is richer than the Queen of England, and her books have stolen the hearts of countless people.  Thanks, Jo!

Next, comes Harry Potter.  Ever since the first book in 1997 took off, fans all over the world have followed him, and stuck with with him right up until page 759 of Deathly Hallows.  He has become a universal icon and hero.  So, we here at the Harry Potter Dictionary would like to take a moment and wish both of them an incredible day!

On July 21, 2007, Potter fanatics across the globe erupted into a state of intense excitement as the final book in the series - -determining the final fate of the boy wizard - was released, and distributed among the fans one-by-one: the ultimate moment we had all been waiting for.

Altogether it was one amazing experience.  For most, the overpowering sensation was bitter-sweet.  The book of a lifetime...also meant the end of a saga.

 --Site news and updates--

  • The August HP calendar is now avaliable on the Calendars page.
  •
To those who have submitted a question using the Questions feature, we have recently been somewhat backed up, so we appreciate your patience and we will have the answers as soon as possible.

  •   We think the site could use a bit of something new, so we are asking you to send in your ideas for a new portion of the site to ashley@harrypotterdictionary.com.  It could be anything -- a new page, contest, section...even a new poll.  We need your feedback, and we greatly appreciate any input.
