Bludger – a ball used in Quidditch by Beaters to hit the opponents
Deluminator – a device, which, when clicked, the light of any nearby light sources will be taken out and stored; made by Albus Dumbledore; left behind in the will of Albus Dumbledore to Ron Weasley; until The Deathly Hallows, it was known as the put- outer
Firebolt – the fastest broomstick out there; one is owned by Harry Potter
Goblet of Fire – The goblet used in the Triwizard Tournament for people to submit their names into
Godric Gryffindor’s Sword – first owned by Godric Gryffindor; made by goblins; bears rubies and the name Godric Gryffindor; usually kept in the Headmaster’s office at Hogwarts; takes a true Gryffindor to find it; destroyed the horcruxes: Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring, Salazar Slytherin’s Locket, Nagini
Golden Snitch – ball used in Quidditch- first Seeker to catch it earns 150 points and usually wins; designed for the game of Quidditch after a small bird called a snidget; one was left behind in the will of Albus Dumbledore for Harry Potter bearing the words “I open at the close”; they are good hiding places for small things; the resurrection stone was left inside it for Harry
Marauders Map – created by the 4 marauders: Moony (Remus Lupin), Wormtail (Peter Petigrew), Padfoot (Sirius Black), an Prongs (James Potter); shows an entire map of Hogwarts and where anyone inside its boundaries are; eventually given to Harry Potter in his 3rd year by Fred and George Weasley who stole it from Filch’s office in their first year
Pensive – a stone basin which you can empty your thoughts into; Albus Dumbledore owned one
The Prophecy – this particular prophecy was mady by Sybil Trelawney to Albus Dumbledore; a copy of it was in the Hall of Prophecies at the Ministry of Magic until Neville kicked it and it smashed; a thought of it also lies in Dumbledore’s pensive; the label reads: SPT to APWBD Dark Lord and (?) Harry Potter; It says: “ The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies… And the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have powers the Dark Lord knows not… And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives… The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…” ; This basically says that if there is going to be one to kill Voldemort, it must be Harry, and this prophecy is the reason Voldemort tried to kill him in the first place
Sorting Hat – a talking hat at Hogwarts used to determine the appropriate house (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin) of first years; usually is in headmaster’s office; Voldemort sets it on fire in attempt to kill Neville in the Deathly Hallows
The Sorcerer’s Stone – produces the Elixir of Life, and can also be used to turn any metal into pure gold; only someone who wants to find it but not use it can get it; destroyed in Harry’s first year because of Voldemort’s attempt to steal it
Quaffle – a ball used in Quidditch- the main point is to get the Quaffle through the rings
Horcruxes
Tom Riddle’s Diary – belonged to Tom Riddle; was used to communicate between whoever writes in it and the memory of Tom Riddle which was preserved in it for 50 years; destroyed by Harry Potter with a Basilisk fang in his 2nd year
Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring – belonged to Marvolo Gaunt; stolen by Tom Riddle; bears the Deathly Hallows mark; destroyed by Albus Dumbledore with the Gryffindor Sword (also a Deathly Hallow; see the Ressurection Stone)
Salazar Slytherin’s Locket – first owned by Salazar Slytherin; eventually owned by Hepzibah Smith (a descendant of Helga Hufflepuff); bears emeralds and an S; about the size of an egg; destroyed by Ron Wealsey with the Gryffindor Sword
Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup – first owned by Helga Hufflepuff; eventually owned by her descendant Hepzibah Smith; bears yellow stones with an H; kept in Ballatrix Lestrange’s Gringotts vault; destroyed by Hermione Granger with a Basilisk Fang
Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem – first owned by Rowena Ravenclaw; hidden in Room of Requirement at Hogwarts by Tom Riddle; thought to be lost for a very, very long time (otherwise known as the Lost Diadem); destroyed by Feindfyre set by Vincet Crabbe
Hallows
Cloak of Invisibility – supposedly first given to a Peverell brother by Death; possesses pure invisibility and does not wear out; eventually passed down to James Potter; afterwards given to Harry Potter
Resurrection Stone – supposedly first given to a Peverell brother by Death; allows the user to bring someone back from the dead in a non- human state; bears Deathly Hallows symbol on it; handed down eventually to Marvolo Gaunt; stolen by Tom Riddle and turned into a horcrux (see also Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring)
Elder Wand – supposedly first given to a Peverell brother by Death; broken off of an Elder tree; possesses power to defeat all other wands; eventually won by Albus Dumbledore from Gellert Grindlewald; afterwards eventually won by Harry Potter; otherwise known as the Deathsick or the Wand of Destiny
